Annabel Priest.

Annabel joined Lanyon Bowdler in January 2024, working alongside the head of department as a legal assistant in the Family Team.

During her time so far with the firm, Annabel has had extensive exposure to cases, including attending Court hearings, drafting applications and offering support to new enquiries along the way. In September 2024, she started her training contract, remaining with the Family Team to undertake her first seat. In March 2025 Annabel moved to the Employment Team for her second seat.

Annabel studied law at the University of Chester, gaining her LLB in 2023 and her LPC in 2024. During her time at university, Annabel became a member of the Chester Community Law Project, which led her to being project manager for the “Immigration Project”; a project whereby students assisted a legal aid caseworker with applications for Indefinite Leave to Remain for Syrian and Ukrainian refugees. As a result of the success that this project had, it went on to win the LawWorks and Attorney General Student Pro-Bono Awards held at the House of Lords in 2023. In addition to this, Annabel was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2023 for her eagerness to offer her assistance to a number of clients with employment-related queries through the University of Chester Legal Advice Clinic.
